Here’s an in-depth look at what you’ll receive and learn with our homeschool curriculum.

Instructor’s Guides

The homeschool curriculum package includes a 36-Week, 4-Day schedule, designed to save one day a week for co-ops, music lessons, sports, field trips, or other extracurricular activities. You'll find colorful map answer keys, discussion questions and answers, and background notes to help maximize your time spent with your child.

Virtual Learning

An optional online platform allows students to access reading schedules, take assessments, and receive instant auto-grading results. Parents can track and review student work, customize assessments, and message students directly from a computer or mobile device. The virtual course includes one student and one parent/teacher account.

If purchased in April, May, or June, access to the Virtual platform can start as early as July 1st. You can begin your course on a date of your choice, up to six months from the purchase date. Please note that virtual courses must be started within six months of purchase, and you will have 12 months from your start date to complete the course.

History & Geography │ Intro to American History, Year 1 of 2

Explore American history from before the Spanish conquistadors through the 1850s. Discover the innovative spirit that shaped early America as you meet Incans, Aztecs, and Mayans, sail with Columbus, journey with Lewis and Clark, and invent with Benjamin Franklin!

The optional American History I - Lap Book Kit can be added to this homeschool curriculum package under the Customize Tab above and is scheduled in the Instructor's Guide for your convenience.

Read-Alouds

Enjoy 11 read-aloud books filled with pioneer adventure, colonial suspense, and heartwarming courage. Some featured titles include:

  • Walk the World's Rim - Meet Europeans in Texas long before the Pilgrims landed.
  • The Sign of the Beaver - A Newbery Honor tale about a white boy rescued by an Indian chief.
  • The Witch of Blackbird Pond - A Newbery Medal book about family, justice, and courage (despite the title, there is no witch or witchcraft in this story).

Readers

The Level D Readers tie directly into the history content of this homeschool curriculum package. These adventure-filled stories help cement the transition from "learning to read" to "reading to learn." For avid readers or those on the older end of the 8-11 age range, choose the Advanced package, which includes all Regular Readers plus eight additional gripping books.

Language Arts

This comprehensive Language Arts program includes daily lesson plans to help your child develop excellent written communication skills. An optional supplement, Wordly Wise 3000, Book 3 & Teacher's Key, is scheduled in the guide for your convenience but is not required (not included in the All-Subject Package unless selected).

Spelling

Spelling You See encourages students to spell correctly by imprinting words on visual memory. The program allows students to develop spelling skills naturally at their own pace, guided by the instructor. See the General Spelling Readiness Guidelines for more information on placing your student at the correct level.

Handwriting Without Tears │ Cursive Handwriting

No matter your child's motor skill level, they will experience daily success with Handwriting Without Tears. The program includes a student workbook, 3/8" ruled practice paper, and four adhesive strips to help students with letter formation. Different levels of Handwriting Without Tears are available for selection.

Science

This engaging Science course combines BookShark’s signature literature-based approach with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Students will explore forces and interactions, life systems and cycles, weather and climate, and engineering design through captivating literature and experiments.

The literature includes two insightful resource books: Did You Know? Science, focusing on the needs of living things and meteorology, and Usborne Encyclopedia of Seas and Oceans, covering ocean ecosystems. Students will also enjoy vivid picture books on fossils, magnets, genetic traits, and weather, along with entertaining stories, such as the Magic School Bus and a biography of Nikola Tesla.

Experiments will range from constructing hurricane-resistant roofs to creating an electrical current and building a motor-powered robot.

Math

The Math-U-See Gamma Universal Set is included in this All-Subject Package. You may also choose from other math programs, such as Saxon or Singapore, via the customize tab. Assess your student's readiness for Gamma using the Gamma Readiness Assessment.
